About Us

Spacemark, Inc. was begun in 1972 as a merit shop contractor specializing in the job site assembly of pre-engineered metal buildings.  Robert L. Ketenbrink, one of the founders, has been active in the industry since 1954 as an erector and is Chairman of the Board of Spacemark, Inc.  His fifty-plus years in the industry have given him an expertise that few can boast of.  In 1981 a subsidiary company, Spacemark of Texas, Inc., was established for the purpose of doing the work in the Texas area and is based in Midland, Texas.


Spacemark, Inc has also been very active in Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) at both the Chapter and National levels.  

 

On January 16, 1996 Spacemark, Inc. was accepted by the Systems Builders Association (a nationwide association of metal building dealers, erectors and suppliers, now MBCEA) for Company Certification.  Spacemark, Inc. was the first erector to be certified and second company overall to be certified.   

 
Spacemark, Inc. operates five crews with the experience to expand into seven crews.  The experience of Spacemark, Inc.’s Superintendents and Foremen range from forty-two years to ten years. 

Spacemark, Inc. takes great care in selecting personnel.  Before being hired, an applicant is required to read our safety rules (printed right on the application), take an attitude evaluation, a pre-employment physical and a drug and alcohol test.  We also do random drug testing and every employee who drives one of our vehicles is required to carry a D.O.T. medical examination card, which is renewable every two years and includes another drug screen.  The OSHA 10 hour construction safety course is completed by each new employee prior to the their first day of work.  Our Safety Director is a OSHA 500/502 certified instructor.

 

We believe we have one of the finest, most knowledgeable teams available in the industry.  Our years of dedication to the industry have produced some of the finest metal building projects assembled.  We stay alert to the fact that the industry as well as the needs of the customer are constantly changing and keep our staff well educated to those changes.

 

Spacemark, Inc. also has an in-house training and testing program in order to maintain top quality in our production.  A full time mechanic is on staff to keep equipment in tip-top condition.  Every job is equipped with a Certified Safety Tie-Off System to maintain 100% tie-off as presently being enforced by OSHA.  Each project is furnished with a customized Fall Protection Plan, which includes the special equipment necessary for each phase and an assigned competent person to implement the Fall Protection Plan.
